Dr Prashant Meshram is a certified orthopedic surgeon and a decorated research scholar with an experience of over 7 years. Dr Meshram’s principal interests are sports injuries and age-related joint diseases for shoulder and knee with expertise in arthroscopic (key hole) and joint replacement surgeries. He is trained at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, USA and Seoul National University, South Korea. He is the only doctor in UAE and among few in the MENA region bestowed with the membership of American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons due to his accomplishments in the field of Sports Medicine.
Dr Meshram has authored over 45 research articles and book chapters in International scientific journals. He has delivered and co-authored over 50 podium and poster presentations in International meetings across the World. Dr Prashant is a scientific reviewer for top orthopedic journals like American Journal of Sports Medicine, Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research, and Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine. Currently, Dr Meshram has been working in Dubai at the Orthocure Medical Center for over a year and has attachments at Mediclinic City Hospital and Medcare Orthopedic & Spine Hospital.
After his medical school from the JJ hospital, Mumbai, Dr Prashant did his orthopedic residency (masters) from the KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He also holds a diploma in national board/DNB orthopedics. Subsequently, he worked as a junior consultant at Sion Hospital, Mumbai for a year which involved teaching residents and medical students. This enriching ground level experience of working at 3 biggest hospitals in India not only helped him build up his clinical skills but also networking with mentors and peers in India. He travelled to South Korea to learn from the knee and shoulder specialist at Seoul National University which is the biggest university in Korea.
He trained under Professor Dr Joo Han Oh there for a period of 3 months. Noticing his competency and efficiency, he was offered a one year fully funded fellowship by Professor Dr Tae Kyun Kim at TK hospital which is the highest volume of surgical centers in South Korea for knee replacement. Gaining trust from his mentors at TK hospital, he handled a variety of responsibilities ranging from surgery, research,fellowship management as well as hospital administration. By the end of his successful fellowship of about 2 years in South Korea, he was even offered a full-time job to work in South Korea but he chose to study further and deepen his knowledge. Dr Meshram was awarded the prestigious JW Marriott research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute, USA at the shoulder division which gave him the unique opportunity to enhance his knowledge of cutting-edge treatment modalities including shoulder joint replacement and elevate to the league of top international sports medicine surgeons and scholars.
